OHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament: Boys Receive Sectional Final Matchup

Season Overview:
The Lima Senior Spartans came into Sunday's tournament draw with a 13-6 record.
Tuesday, December 6th was the season opener for the Spartans as they traveled to Mansfield Senior High School for a non-conference matchup. Lima Senior won this game comfortably as they picked up a 31-point victory 70-39.
Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) play began a few days later on Friday, December 9th, as the Spartans hit the road to Whitmer High School. Whitmer shot well in this game from behind the arc, as they hit 10 triples, to hand Lima Senior their first loss of the year 83-65.
The Spartans would then follow-up the next three games with victories (W 72-33 vs Clay, W 73-71 vs Dayton Dunbar, and W53-44 at St. Francis De Sales) as they started to build some momentum at 4-1. The first week of 2023, however, would not go according to plan as the boys lost back-to-back games against St. John's Jesuit on Tuesday, January 3rd (L 44-32) and at Toledo Central Catholic (67-61) on Friday, January 6th.
Once the unfortunate first week of January was out of the way though, the Spartans would finish the month 8-2 with victories over Fremont Ross (1/10: W 71-43), Ottawa-Glandorf (1/14: W 52-48), Springboro (1/16: 64-29), Lima Central Catholic (1/17: W 77-44), Clay (1/20: W 80-42), Shawnee (1/21: W 69-65), St. Francis De Sales (1/24: W 61-44), and Whitmer (1/31: W 52-46).
In the final two games prior to Sunday's tournament draw, Lima Senior had two big matchups against Toledo Central Catholic on Friday, February 3rd and against Hillard-Bradley on Saturday, February 4th (OG Winter Classic at Ottawa-Glandorf). The Spartans would pick up a big victory on their home court Friday evening over Toledo Central Catholic 52-43, but they would fall to Hillard-Bradley 70-52 at Ottawa-Glandorf High School.
Sunday's Tournament Draw Selection:
The Lima Senior Boys Basketball team will play the Fremont Ross Little Giants on Friday, Feb. 24 at Lakota High School in Sectional Final action. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
