After coming off a 3-7 season a Lima Senior Football program stacked with potential was looking to take advantage of the upcoming schedule change due to the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) announcing its disbandment sending Senior High to the Toledo City League (TCL).
Lima Senior would start their 2022 campaign with 2 schools out of their new home conference along with South West Ohio member Dayton Dunbar and continue to finish the remainder of the season against former TRAC opponents.
Key Losses
Lima Senior will have to fill many voids graduating 22 seniors in the 2022 class. The Spartans will lose a lot of talent on both sides of the ball as the class of 2022 was loaded with talent, as 10 seniors would go on to continue their playing careers at the next level. Here’s a look at what the spartans are losing going into 2022.
Dianté Griffin, DB Isaiah Foster, DB Bryan Hines, DB
Da'Realyst Clark, WR Cecil Benton Jr., WR Carlos Harmon, DE

Lj Layson, DL/OL Marcus Brown, LB
Key Returners/Young Talent
Lima Senior will have to look at their younger talent to fill the voids that are now present with losing six starters out of their defense, and two impact playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. Lima Senior will still return 12 starters and other veterans on both sides of the ball including All-TRAC Sr. defensive end Anthony Mosley, Sr. Tierre Scales (RB), Jr. Aiden Howard (QB), Sr. Aaryion Manley (WR/DB), Sr. Kameruan Smith (LB), Sr. James Evans (DL/OL), Sr. Zion Jackson (DB), and Sr. Kelly Shurelds Jr. (DB). Senior High has loads of young talent in the trenches in Soph. Alex Waithe (OL/DL), Soph. Izaiah Phalen (OL), Soph. Jon Tummel (OL), and young playmakers on both sides of the ball in Jr. Chance Sanders (WR), Jr. Jamall Webster (WR), Jr. Mari Doughty (WR), and Jr. Zaveon Garner (WR).
Season Outcome
Lima Senior would hit the ground running after starting the season 2-0 against new fellow TCL conference members Bowsher and Rogers and would also pick up their third straight against Dayton Dunbar. As the offense was something the team wanted to improve they did exactly that outscoring their first three opponents 81-12. Heading into conference play the spartans would begin to lose key pieces due to injury resulting in suffering seven straight losses to end the season and losing in the first round of the playoffs to Trenton Edgewood. Lima Senior will look to find success in 2023 starting their TCL campaign.
