Lima Alum Playing Professional Basketball in Puerto Rico!!

Zavier Simpson, who graduated from Lima Senior in 2016, announced on Lima's Facebook page that he is playing in Baloncesto Superior Nacional, (Puerto Rico Basketball League). Coming out of High School, ESPN ranked Simpson as the No. 49 player and No. 12 point guard in the country. On September 9, 2015, Zavier Simpson committed to playing college basketball for Michigan. Simpson then went Undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft but was soon later picked up by Los Angeles Lakers as an undrafted free agent on November 18, 2020, but was later waived in December. He then landed with the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League, making his debut in their season opener on February 11, 2021. In 15 games, he averaged 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 28.5 minutes. Simpson then returned to the LA Lakers for the 2021 Summer League. On October 15, 2021, Simpson signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but was waived the same day. On April 3, 2023, Simpson signed with Grises de Humacao of the Puerto Rican League where is still playing and hoping that the Lima Community can still watch him grow in his Professional Career.
